Pairing/Connecting Guide for i10 30-pin Connector Bluetooth iPod Transmitter
Requirements for your Bluetooth headset/receiver/speaker:
i) Your Bluetooth headset/receiver/speaker must support Bluetooth Stereo A2DP profile. i10 will NOT work with Mono headsets.
ii) The pin code for your Bluetooth headset/receiver/speaker must be any one of these 4 pin-codes: '0000', '1111', '1234' or '8888'.
Pl refer to below steps (in below iDevice = iPod or iPhone or iPad or iPod Touch):
1) First make sure your iDevice battery, and your Bluetooth Headset/Receiver/Speaker battery are charged.
2) a) Power OFF your Bluetooth Headset/Receiver/Speaker.
2) b) Turn OFF the Bluetooth of any other Bluetooth devices (including the native Bluetooth of any iPhone or iPad or iPod Touch, etc).
This step is very important, as other Bluetooth devices will connect to any previously paired/connected device if they are not disabled, causing the i10 not to be able to pair/connect to your Bluetooth Headset/Receiver/Speaker.
3) Power ON the iDevice (make sure the iDevice LCD screen is lighted up at this step), the i10 is NOT plugged into iDevice at this step.
4) Put your Bluetooth Headset/Receiver/Speaker into pairing mode (check your Bluetooth Headset/Receiver/Speaker user guide for how to put your Bluetooth Headset/Receiver/Speaker in pairing mode).
5) Insert the i10 into iDevice. After several seconds, the blue led on i10 will start to quick flash.
6) When the i10 and your Bluetooth Headset/Receiver/Speaker are paired and connected the i10 blue LED will slow flash once in every ~5 secs
7) If you don’t hear any music on Bluetooth Headset/Receiver/Speaker, check to make sure
a. iDevice is not in pause mode. If in pause mode, change to play mode
b. iDevice volume is not at minimum – move the volume control on iDevice to make sure volume changes and not at minimum.
c. Your Bluetooth Headset/Receiver/Speaker volume is not at minimum, if at minimum - increase your Bluetooth Headset/Receiver/Speaker volume.
8) If unsuccessful, remove i10 from iDevice. Power off your Bluetooth Headset/Receiver/Speaker. Repeat steps 1 to step 7 again. If fail 3 times, steps 1-7, let us know.
In some exceptional situations, additional things to do below, and then repeat steps 1-7 above:
1) Reset the iDevice: See this Apple link for how to reset your specific iDevice model http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320
in case above link does not work (or Apple change the link), go to Google and search “How to reset my iPod”
2) Clear your Bluetooth Headset/Receiver/Speaker paired device list (see your Bluetooth Headset/Receiver/Speaker user guide for instructions on how to do this)
3) Update your iDevice with latest Apple software. Connect your iDevice to iTunes and update to latest available software.
4) Check if the iDevice connector pins have dirt in there. You can use a sticky tape (eg Scotch tape, with a non-conducting stick like tooth-pick) to get in there and remove the dirt, if you see any – try not to use cotton swabs (that will probably deposit some fiber materials in there). My iPhone is notorious in accumulating debris in the connector area, that I have to clean from time to time.
5) If your iDevice has been used for a long time, some of the 30-pins on your iDevice connector may have been worned out or distorted due to the numerous insertion cycles to charge your iDevice or using it with other accessories. We ourselves have worned out many iDevices through our development, testing, quality assurance, etc. If such is the case for your iDevice, the only recourse is to get a new iDevice to enjoy the i10 with.

iPod/iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch run-time with i10s/i10
With the iPod Nano 3G, the i10s/i10 is capable of running up to 12 hours streaming Bluetooth music. For iPod classic, iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad, the run-time is much longer due to the bigger batteries in these devices.
In below, iDevice = iPod/iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch.
The run-time depends on:
1) Whether you keep the iDevice LCD display on, and the brightness you set the display. For best run-time, turn down/off the LCD display.
2) The Audio volume you set on the iDevice, the higher the volume, the shorter the run time.
3) The distance between the i10s and the receiver, the further the distance the shorter the run time.
4) Any objects (or human body) in the path of the i10s and the receiver, if objects (or human body) between i10s and receiver, the shorter the run time.
5) How new the iDevice battery is. If the iDevice battery is new, the run time will be longer. If the iDevice battery is old, the run time will be shorter.
6) How the iDevice battery was initially and subsequently charged/discharged. Please refer to iDevice user guide for the best practice in charging, discharging an iDevice battery. For most batteries, there is also a burn-in period for the battery before you get the best battery performance.
7) The particular iDevice model and/or generation, as different models/generations of iDevice have different capacity batteries.
